I don't know about the girls, but did you guys hate it when your Mom used to comb your hair?

Like before you went outside to play with your friends and then had to put up with the laughs and gibes because your hair was glued down with ladies hairspray?

Never minded my mom combing my hair with a comb, it was when she used her hairbrush on my backside, now that I didn't care for. She had one of those old style hair brush's, wider then a 5 yr olds bottom, one whack covered the whole area.

the colonel took me in every two weeks for a buzz cut , so I didn't have anything to comb !

My hair was so short there was no combing to be done. I am not sure of the name for it "Butch Wax" or soomething to that effect was the only thing I think of.

My mom used to wash mine, and she always scrubbed it with her long nails...really hard. I think she had hidden aggression issues. Also, when I became a zitty teenager, she used to stand me in front of a sunny window and pop every blackhead on my face...also with those long nails. Ow.

My son was the one who hated for me to comb his hair. I never did get the knack for styling a boys hair. He let it grow in the winter and got a buzz cut each summer.

Yeah, I never understood it.

"But MOOOMMMM! my hair's fine!" "HUSH." "But why do you have to comb it when it's wet, you always flick water on my neck and make it freezing!" "It won't dry right, hush!"'

:p

When I was a kid I looked like Buster Brown. Then when it grew out, my mom used to comb my hair before school. She would braid it and I looked like the girl on the Old Dutch cleanser can. I don't know which was worse.

I remember my mom braiding my hair, TIGHTLY. It hurt but the braids still were intact after school. What I really hated was when she licked her finger then wiped off a spot of dirt off my face. I'd smell spit all day.

I'm a girl 閳?I always liked it.

My mom set my hair on finger sized metal curlers. I had dents in my hair where it should have been a curl. It was tight and lookes dorky. I hated it, but mom convinced me that I looked nice. My hair looked curlier than Shirley Temples!

My dad cut our hair short. My mom parted it on the side and slicked it down with goopy hair gel. My uncle said we looked like a bunch of alter boys.

My hair was baby fine %26amp; my mom insisted on combing %26amp; brushing my hair. This was before "detangler" %26amp; my scalp hurt badly after she got through with it. She always cut my hair %26amp; when it came to my bangs, she showed no mercy %26amp; cut them soooo short. To add insult to injury, she'd perm my hair with the Tonette perms %26amp; my hair looked so frizzy %26amp; my bangs were even shorter. In my earlier school days, my hair looked so dorky. I think my mom was mad at me when it came to doing my hair. LOL

I didn't get the hair spray -- hated it worse when grannie got her pretty hanky out and gave me a spit bath.

I used to hate it .. my dad always did it so much more gentle.. but even more.. I hated when my mom cut my bangs.. she used a piece of scotch tape as a guide.. needless to say.. they were never straight!!

I am a girl, but I know my brothers hated it. I did too because my hair was full of tangles and snarls. It hurt.

yes, my mother used to always put me and my sister, in pony tails and they were always so tight, I swear our eyes would slant, then if you would complain, she would smack us in the head withe hair brush... then they were hard plastic and it hurt!

I remember my dad gathering my brothers out in the back porch for hair cutting time in the summer, Short, short crew cuts were the norm.

I used to hate when my Aunt came over, as I knew it was going to be Perm time for me. I hated it. The smell of the chemicals and pink little rollers with the wrapping paper. Then

you got to look like Shirley Temple till it grew out.

I'm a girl..but ooo I use to hate that.

My hair was curly as can be. People use to call me Shirley Timple or goldie locks. uggh..

Combing it..oh god.

My grandma use to hair spray it down.

Course..I was a bit of a tom boy too, didn't really like it to be combed. It'd always just get messed up again.

Mom and Grandmother. Vitalis was popular in my youth and you might as well have called it Oleo De Olivo. My Grandma was worse than my mom. She would put a knife edge straight part in my hair even if it took her a dozen tries to get it perfect. By then my scalp was bleeding from the extreme hard small toothed comb.

I found that girls thought I had been injured when they saw the blood and they nurtured me so I guess it was worth the pain.
