I have relaxed african american hair that is rough and less than shoulder length. I want my hair to be sleek and straight and i have a ceramic flat iron. What hair care products could i buy that may grow my hair and keep it shiny so i won't have to apply grease onto it. If i put grease on my hair it weighs my hair down. If i just put oil sheen (hair spray) on my hair could it take the place of grease. What hairstyles could i wear with my hair. Is there any other way i could get my hair straight without using the flat iron or hot comb or relaxer. Thanks.

give up the ghost b/c all you are doing is damaging the ish out of your hair.
a non-heat alternative to drying your hair with appliances would be to wash and condition your hair, moisturize with a non-petroleum/mineral oil/parrafin product, put your hair in braids and let air dry completely. next day, undo the braids for a cute crinkle effect.
or you can do the above steps, but slick it back in a bun to dry.
either way, if you want to alter your hair to be eurocentrically straight, you are going to continue damaging it.

hot oil treatments (olive oil), a style i like that keeps my hair great is kinky twist with weave:)

your hair is just fine the way it is - try to work with it. if you keep damaging your hair, trying to make it what it is not - you might end up with no hair. try natural products or products that are designed for black hair; and do not use any that have grease, mineral oil or petroleum - those will kill you hair for sure! try here; www.precioushue.com

If your hair is rough, it could be because it is over -processed. Taking naturally coily and trying to make it sleek and straight is going against what your hair was designed to be. Your delicate hair is living in a hostile environment of constant flat ironing, chemical altering and extreme heat applications. Hair can't grow under these circumstances!
Look into hair-styles that work with, not against your natural hair texture.
