Has anyone used the deshedding combs for dogs?

I have a Golden Retriever/Chow mix, and she has alot of hair. Every summer we usually shave her, but it makes her look so funny i dont want to do it to her anymore. Has anyone used the deshedding combs for double coated dogs? Do they really work?

I have never used the comb but I do recomend a tool for double coated dogs call a rake. It gets the under coat and the top coat too. I think the comb would be very difficult to pull through the dogs fur. The rake does a wonderful job! I've used one for years.

they sell a brush called the furminator it works great a little pricy though . or you can get a shedding rake at walmart for cheap that works pretty good .

I wish i could remember the name of the comb we bought for our dogs. It was advertised on TV i believe and we got it through a magazine but you can buy it at like target or walmart too. Wasn't badly priced either. It removes the old dead undercoat that most combs, brushes don't get and it works great. I get alot of the dead hair out and they are shiny and soft when I get down combing them.
