Tight curly head people/mixed people hair?

How do you apply product to your short tight curly hair to get good curl definition? scrunching,smoothing,combing it in with your finger or a comb which one?

I just became 100% natural 6 months ago and my hair is about 2-3 inches unstreched i have corksrew curls shape like an z or a s that`s big as my pinky or a coffee stirrer.When i put a leave in(garnier frutis curls and shine) in my hair by smoothing it in the curls are gone so i would have to wash it out then i put in the gel by appllying it to my hair in 3 sections all in one time then i comp with my fingers,the curls appear but the IC gel leaves white stuff in my hair.I`m going to buy aubrey styling product that`s natural at a health store,but i want to know if there`s a way that short hair curlies apply product to their hair.Scrunching works well with people with long hair but when i did that with my ic gel it would make my hair look as if nothing was added.

I have the same problem. I just went natural again in April. They discountinued my favorite product so I had to find something elese.

Two style options:

1. On Damp Hair, put Protein Gel. Comb through hair with a wide tooth comb, then finger style.

2. On Damp Hair, put Pure Aloe Vera Gel, finger style.

-The key is to manipulate hair as little as possible to maintain curl .

-Add a shine spray to hair after your hair is mostly dry.

don't use gel it as alcohol..use a setting lotion after you wash and condition your hair..use a rattail comb and make small square sections all over your head..put the setting lotion in your hair...separate each square into two section...and twist them together..do this all over your head..put a silk pillowcase on or a silk scarf at night...sleep like this...when you wake up and its dry..take out the twists and separate them..run your fingers through your hair you will have the most amazing curls..without any styling products that will only do damage on your hair..also gnc sells pure jojoba oil...this is really good for ethnic hair

Usually what I do is use the product in the shower and comb it out while rinsing. After that you just let it air dry (no towel) and anything else done to it is done with my fingers. I'm mixed race and wear my hair short/medium short and this works well for me.

Try frizzease. Apply to wet hair, towel it , pick it out, scrunch a little where it need it, dry it with a diffuser. Hair looks natural ( no product). If it gets messed just add a light spray of water and re style. Works for me. My curl is not real tight but it gets super fuzzy with humidity this really helps and it only takes a little (about the size of a nickel does my whole head.)
