How do I make my hair unnappy and strsight?

When getting my hair done, I have 2 go through a whole process. My hair it always has a little curl 2 it, and I know it may come from my heritage, and it takes forever 2 comb through bcause it's nappy. My hair is thick, but if I work it the right way, I can get almost any hair style. Help me PLEASE. What do I do?

Cut it shorter and use use hair gel. If u have a sister, use her hair straghtener. My brothers hair sounds like yours and he uses my hair straightener to get the desired spikes and hairstyles he wants
